What is the flight team?

The Louisiana Tech Precision Flight Team is a student organization consisting of Professional Aviation students. We are pilots of all skill levels, ranging from student-pilots to certified flight instructors. Our members join the team to challenge and improve their skills as pilots.

What do we do?

The primary focus of the Precision Flight Team is competing in the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) Regional and National competitions. We compete against other schools' flight teams in events such as precision landings, navigation, preflight, and promote safety in both individual and team efforts. We also attend industry events such as local fly-ins, and more importantly, we play a key part in helping students be involved in our aviation department and our members are diligent in the continued upkeep and improvement of the safety culture seen at Louisiana Tech.

What are our plans?

This Fall we attended the NIFA Region IV Competition hosted by Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and we placed fourth overall, qualifying us for Nationals. The NIFA National Competition will be hosted by Oshkosh, Wisconsin in May 2023. We are grateful for any support that can be offered.
